An electrifying fireworks display lit up Vancouver's waterfront for the second night of the 2025 Celebration of Light on Wednesday, July 23.
The Montreal-based Royal Pyrotechnie team put on a vibrant display for a crowd of thousands, clogging several of the main arteries to local beaches. After the show ended, the Vancouver Police Department advised festival-goers to follow directions patiently and consider taking side streets when possible.
If you’re leaving the area after the Celebration of Light, be patient and follow the direction of our officers. Consider taking side streets when possible to avoid Davie and Denman, which are getting heavily congested.#CelebOfLight pic.twitter.com/zLojD4f2cv

The Quebec pyrotechnic group has been sending up fireworks since the 1960s and regularly participates in international competitions; they were part of the Celebration of Light in 2017.
The Snowbirds performed earlier in the evening ahead of the fireworks display, marking their final event of the 2025 festival (they won't return on Saturday).

Skywatchers can catch the final night of fireworks on Saturday, July 26, with Nova Scotia's Team Fireworks FX, one of Canada's premier fireworks companies.
The Metro Vancouver weather forecast calls for slightly cooler conditions over the weekend, with possible showers on Friday. However, Saturday is expected to be dry.
