If you've been paying attention to our Twitter and some of the banner ads on the site then you're already familiar with Make Music Vancouver, the FREE music festival happening in Gastown today from 5PM-10PM. The festival is a part of a global movement called Fête de la Musique in which free festivals are held on the same day. Founded in France in 1982, throughout the years this event has become an international phenomenon, celebrated in countries as diverse as Canada, the USA, Germany, Italy, Egypt, Syria, Morocco, Australia, Vietnam, Congo, Cameroon, Fiji, Colombia, Chile, Nepal, and Japan.
The Fête de la Musique in Vancouver is organized by Français du Monde à Vancouver association and the Alliance Française de Vancouver, with the support of the French Consulate, but the music is absolutely not all French language, it is a broad mix of which you can find the schedule for HERE.
