Playing two nights (tonight and tomorrow) at the Vogue is Sigur Ros frontman, Jonsi!
I've been a fan of Sigur Ros for almost a decade, since I saw them play the John Anson Ford Theatre in LA in May of 2001. It's an outdoor amphitheatre and it couldn't have been planned but for portions of the show there was a police helicopter circling the venue shining a light down, likely looking for a criminal of some sort lurking in those hills surrounding, but it added so much to the beauty of their performance. I was living in LA at the time and scrimped and scrounged enough money together to fly up specifically to see them play St Andrew's Cathederal 6 months later, and the performance was equally beautiful although there were no police helicopters. On the Sigur Ros web site there are archives where everyday people write about their experiences at all of their previous shows, it's a crazy resource that I wish all bands had.
