Busy with some stuff until last Wed night, finally got myself out to experience the city's O-Faces and seems like hype is carrying on thru beyond official Olympic events. Attended Keys N Krates at Fortune Sound last Wed night and though its my 3rd time seeing them, seems like they've buffed up their arsenal quite a bit. If you're looking something beyond the standard DJ set mix n mash and havent been that excited over live bands lately, these guys, doing live remixes with actual musicians and turntablists together are def on the fresh tip.
They are, I believe, based out of Toronto but a regular fixture in the Vancity music scene - they played the Livestock Blockparty a couple years back, rawked it hard actually and one of their members, Jr. Flo is part of the EH! Team DJs along with our Vancity rep Hedspin. EH! Team crew mates, the Team Canada DJs also played the Cultural Olympiad Chromeo show on Sat night along with Love & Electrik, more pics from that show to follow.
