TV series starring Hilary Swank films huge fire scene in Metro Vancouver

Check out photos and a video of the jaw-dropping conflagration.

Described a real "crowd pleaser," a Metro Vancouver film set involved a man-made conflagration this week.

A sizeable crew was deployed to the Cloverdale area of Surrey to shoot the scene, which involved several mock fire trucks and faux emergency personnel, as well as a large fire at "Rita's Diner."

Numerous onlookers lingered around the area to record videos of the high-action scenes, too.

The fiery theatrics turned up the heat for a new TV series called Alaska Daily starring American actress Hilary Swank as a young journalist who leaves a high-profile job in the "Big Apple" to join a small newspaper in the northernmost state, according to Deadline. The series is slated to premiere on ABC this fall.

Cloverdale Business Improvement Association Executive Director Paul Orazietti shared several photos and videos from the scene, including one of the smoke furling from the flames below.

So far, there haven't been any confirmed sightings of Swank in the city.
