TURNING FRIENDS INTO FANS:

USING SOCIAL MEDIA TO MARKET YOUR BAND

What the heck does this photo of me standing with some dudes on one of the Olympic podiums have to do with a seminar about bands using social media? On the right is Dave Olson from Hootsuite, a Vancouver-based Twitter tool (Hootsuite, not Dave!) that you might already be using to manage your account. Dave is what you would call a social media guru, he has made multiple appearances on V.I.A. (1, 2) and he will be sharing some sage wisdom as one of the speakers on the panel. I imagine he'll be talking about... well... how to get yourself onto places like V.I.A. and how to take advantage of all of the incredible free social media tools there are out there for you to tell your story with and connect with fans.

The official word:

Saturday March 26th, 2011

Tom Lee Music Hall - 929 Granville St (3rd floor)
