The PEAK Performance Project is a seven-year, 5.29 million dollar contest open to all musicians in British Columbia. The project was created by Vancouver's very own 100.5 The PEAK and Music BC to develop BC based emerging artists. |
Over the coming weeks we'll be introducing you to all of this year's participating artists with quick interviews about the project, the other artists, and a little bit of Vancouver! Vote now for your favourite top 19 at www.peakperformanceproject.com.
Next up is We Are The City from Kelowna. They’ll be playing The Cellar on October 22nd, and the only way to get into the showcase is by listening to 100.5 The Peak FM to win tickets! Limited tickets will also be released at the door.
Who's your favorite artist(s) in the Peak Performance Project and why?
That's an impossible question. We have about 18 favourites and each artist is so good. We do not envy the judges. It's going to be a very tough choice.
What was the most valuable thing you took away from Boot Camp?
The networking with all the industry people and the other bands was definitely up there. The possibilities that will, and already have, come from the relationships we made are so huge.
What is the one thing you wish you brought to Boot Camp, but didn't?
For David, it was more pants than just his red pair. For Andy, it was some cigarettes... just to fit in. For Cayne, it was more socks because he ran out and had to re-use.
What's your favorite venue to play in BC?
The Habitat. We're so thrilled that it's in our hometown and we love it there. Makes us proud.
Where is your favorite hangout in Vancouver?
300-1401 8th Avenue West.
If you win the grand prize, what are you going to put the money towards?
So many things. We would use the money to get our foot in the door and stand out. We've thrown around ideas for the next album being recorded in an unconventional way, and we'd also use the money for a load of other stuff. Marketing, touring, and spreading the love. To be honest, that's a completely crazy question.
Love,
Cayne, David, and Andy
