Registrations are now open for the inaugural Santa Run; a new holiday-themed 5km charity race to help raise much-needed funds to support young burns survivors.

The festive run starts and finishes in front of Bright Nights in Stanley Park, with the scenic course taking runners and walkers along the Seawall and through the park. The event also includes a shorter 1km route for kids.

The Burn Fund is not as old as Santa Claus himself, but the organization

has been serving burn survivors for 41 years now.

Bright Nights is the Burn Fund’s original Christmas tradition, with fire fighters across the Lower Mainland volunteering their time to decorate Stanley Park with more than three million twinkling lights every winter for more than 20 years.

All proceeds from the race will go towards the Burn Fund’s child programs, like Burn Camp, which has welcomed more than 1,000 young burn survivors to summer camp over the last 26 years.

All racers will receive their very own Santa suit, made from lightweight felt, to add a little Christmas spirit to the event.

Participants will also have exclusive access to Bright Nights, enjoying hot cocoa, a Christmas cookie, and a ride on the iconic Bright Nights Christmas Train following the Santa Run.

Don't forget to register.
