First of all, Happy Canada Day!
I'm back...physically...mentally I'm still in Festival Mode, which is good because the season has just begun! I just got home from NXNE in Toronto and Tall Tree in Port Renfew, BC and both were very different but equally awesome times. What festivals are YOU going to this summer? Tweet me...I want to know!

THIS WEEK IN MUSIC: starts with some awesome Canada Day festivities. Check out the Strathcona Park Canada Day Jamboree from noon to 9pm! 102.7 The Peak are starting a Thursday night concert series at Library Square and it kicks off with Tough Lovers this week. Friday Courtney Barnett is in town at Fortune Sound Club. Also, super exciting news, the CBC Musical Nooners are BACK! They are free, kick off on Friday (at noon obviously) at the CBC with The Boom Booms. Speaking of The Boom Booms, their annual block party has now moved to Strathcona Park and is bigger and better...it's the East Van Summer Jam this Saturday. Performers include The Boom Booms, Rascalz, The Funk Hunters, BESTiE, The New Royales, Kutapira, Elastic Bond, and Heatwave - with profits going to The Music Tree. Oh, and once that is finished head a few blocks away to the Metz show at the Rickshaw.
