SCENE AND HEARD showcases the independent music scene here in Vancouver.

sceneandheard SCENE AND HEARD showcases the independent music scene here in Vancouver. We interview some of our favourite local artists, post weekly guest playlists comprised of Vancouver artists and ‘Last Week in Music’ highlights some of the concerts happening around the city...

Another Polaris Record Salon successfully pulled off this week...thanks to Lisa Christiansen and Devin Townsend for an awesome interview. That was it for me for the week (except for an AMAZING Dine Out preview put on by Glowbal Group) until Sunday where I saw David Newberry, White Ash Falls, and Fish & Bird (their CD Release) at the Railway. Now, I hope you're ready because this week is going to be pretty awesome...

THIS WEEK IN MUSIC: proves that January is finally picking up. Check out the PuSh Gala opening party tonight at the Waldorf! Wednesday how about an Evening of Share-enade at Cafe Montemartre (ft. a slew of musicians including Elliot C. Way, The Sumner Brothers, Craig Alan Mechler (Khingfisher), Andy Bishop, Matt Campbell and Dave Newberry, Jen Bojm & Colin Cowan and more)! Thursday I hope you got tickets to the FREE concert by Jasper Sloan Yip at the CBC for the Touque Sessions (RSVP email in the FB event)! Thursday is a double whammy, The Mocking Bird CD Release show at the Roundhouse, and at the Cellar on Granville: Dan Moxon, Ali Milner and the Sumner Brothers. Have some MORE Dan Moxon on Saturday as Bend Sinister is at Performance Works as part of the PuSH Festival (hosted by one of our favourites, Lisa Christiansen). Finally finish your week off on Sunday at the Railway with a bevy of beauties: Steph Macpherson, Redbird and Ma Petite.
