All good things must come to an end, and Vancouver Is Awesome is no exception to this rule. The fun and games of this little incorporated not-for-profit and web site have run their course for me and it's now time to move on to the next stage in my personal and professional growth...
APRIL FOOLS!
Over the past two years, myself and a team of dedicated editors and contributors along with our board of directors, donors, promoters, other organizations and local businesses, have helped V.I.A. to become pretty much the go to web site for 18-35 year old Vancouverites as it highlighted a bunch of silly things happening around this wet and windy city. We're now averaging 110,000 page views per month from 40,000 unique visitors but I can't in good faith just sit around and pretend to be happy about living here anymore. I didn't realize it until after the Games were done and we were left with a hollow shell of a broken down city but deep down inside I'm miserable, and it's because I haven't had a chance to talk about all of the shitty things that bum me out about Vancouver. I need somewhere to vent...
So it is with great pride that I announce the launch of my latest project: VANCOUVERISAWFUL.COM!
I will slowly be turning the entire AWESOME site into the AWFUL site, transitioning some of the content over while I put VancouverIsAwesome.com to sleep and hopefully some of the editorial team will join me on this new blog where we will talk about all of the crappy things happening in and around Vancouver.
Unlike the old V.I.A., the new organization will have private investors and will be entirely FOR PROFIT as I am sick and tired of eking my way through life. I aim to capitalize on this new site as much as possible so that my investors and I can begin building an empire.
Thanks for the laughs everybody, but it's time to get real.
