Ready to taste the very best one Vancouver neighbourhood has to offer? Nineteen breweries, cafés, and restaurants have teamed to take part in the return of the popular Dine Strathcona culinary dine-around event, which runs November 17 to 30.

The annual community fest, organized by the Strathcona Business Improvement Association (SBIA), finds participating area food and drink businesses offering a special item on their menu from which $5 of each sale will go to the event's community partner, HAVE Culinary Training Society.

This is the third year Dine Strathcona is taking place, and it essentially offers Vancouverites the chance to do some culinary exploring in our own backyard all while helping out a terrific cause.

Dine Strathcona's 2021 participants include a wide range of options, from the exciting modern Pacific Northwest fare of The Mackenzie Room to the always-satisfying Ask For Luigi. Flex your tastebuds with a visit to Dosanko to try their homestyle Japanese eats, or try out the tantalizing chicken parm sandwich from newcomer food "bus" Burdy, which parks at Container Brewing. Speaking of brewing, you can also choose from several coffee options at some of Strathcona's java hot spots, like Harken or Pallet.

Your participation supports the non-profit work of HAVE Culinary Training Society, which provides accessible food service training and employment opportunities to members of the community who face barriers to employment such as poverty, homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges.

“The money raised during this year’s event will provide funding to enroll new students in HAVE’s culinary training program and help secure job placements for new graduates in Metro Vancouver restaurants," explains Johanna Lauyanto, Manager, Communications & Sustainability at the SBIA, in a media release.
