Close your eyes, and picture yourself sipping apple cider around a campfire and then digging into a slice of homemade pumpkin pie. It's a pretty perfect fall moment, and a trio of new gourmet chocolates created by some talented food folks here in Vancouver give you the ultimate taste of the season in single, glorious bites.

Adrian Harris and Jeremy Inglett, known as the Food Gays, teamed up with Burnaby-based chocolatier Chez Christophe to come up with a limited-edition set of chocolates.

The cookbook authors say the inspiration for this collection is pure nostalgia, and they're absolutely bang-on with the flavours.

With their Apple Cider Truffle you get a burst of crisp sweetness with glimmers of warming spices. The Campfire is like a mini decadent s'more, thanks to its milk chocolate birch ganache and vanilla marshmallow in a dark chocolate shell. But the Pumpkin Pie chocolate will make you feel like you're in the middle of Willy Wonka's marvellous factory and getting every ounce of creamy, spicy, earthy gourd-y goodness from a full slice in just one tiny bite.

These sweet gems are only available until Oct. 14, so if you are keen to treat yourself or need a gift to bring to a Thanksgiving gathering, these would fit the bill perfectly.

Order online or visit Chez Christophe in Burnaby Heights at 4717 Hastings Street.
