Fresh sheet: Over 20 more Metro Vancouver restaurants and food businesses doing take-out or delivery

There's some awesome stuff happening with Vancouver's restaurants right now, and if you can, please support them. They won't all survive.

One of the biggest take-aways from the COVID-19 crisis has been the resiliance of our small business owners. One of the hardest-hit sectors is the hospitality industry, with hundreds of thousands of employees out of work nationwide, locations shuttered temporarily or for good, and an ongoing struggle to stay connected to the guests they serve.

In Metro Vancouver, restaurant owners, managers, chefs, and staff are stepping up in inspired and brilliant ways. They are keeping customers fed - but also feeding frontline workers, peers in need, and food insecure populations. Our restaurant heroes have cooked up meal kits and bundles featuring prepared foods ready for your table or picnic, or with ingredients for you to prepare at home. Chefs have re-tooled menus to work for packing up. Small like-minded businesses have banded together in near-unprecedented ways. And they are showing up to work, ramping up their safety measures, and getting food on our tables.

There's some damn awesome stuff happening with Vancouver's incredible restaurants right now, and if you can, please support them. They won't all survive.

I've been working to keep you updated on what different restaurants and food businesses are doing at this time. You can read more about some options here:

And our colleagues at the North Shore News have this: North Shore eateries try to deliver amid COVID-19 crisis. If you're in Coquitlam, Surrey, Langley, Langley City, and White Rock, the site West Coast Food has a new roundup of some great options.

Additionally, please use the excellent website Breaking Bread to connect directly to restaurants and order food or purchase gift certificates and merchandise.

As emails and DMs come in from restaurants and food businesses, or as I am able to track them via social media, I am rounding them up here regularly to keep you informed.

As always, bear in mind that due to the COVID-19 crisis, things may change rapidly. Please connect directly with the restaurant via phone, email, website, or social media, before making plans that depend upon their offerings being available.
