Something's brewing in North Vancouver: The team behind the indie Vancouver coffee spot Koffie are gearing up to open Winston, a "food-forward coffee shop" in Lower Lonsdale.

Winston will be located at 228 Lonsdale Ave, taking over the space that was previously home to the all-day café Table 153, which had been there since December 2016.

The small space boasts both individual seating as well as a long communal table in a room with warm, inviting tones and plenty of colourful pops.

For Winston, details about the food and coffee have not been shared, but if we're taking cues from Koffie, it's certain there will be an emphasis on quality coffee beans and preparation, where they use a high-end Italian machine for espresso, and Avalon Traceable milk (along with non-dairy options like oat, almond, and soy). They also do pour overs and batch brews, and all of the beans they use in the cafe are available for sale.

Eats at Koffie include pastries, toasts, and breakfast sandwiches in the morning, and midday fare like salads, sandwiches, and a daily vegetarian soup offering. With food taking the front seat at Winston, it will be exciting to see what the menu has in store.

No opening date for Winston has been set, but you can follow them on Instagram @winston.northvan for more updates. If you're curious about Koffie, they're located in Coal Harbour at 130-1050 West Pender.
