The Jervis Joint is now open at 1300 Robson St in Vancouver. The pub-style venue offers comfort food and bar snacks with beer, wine, and cocktails.

The restaurant space at 1300 Robson St - adjacent to Forage - has had a few identities in the last handful of years, and has just re-emerged from a bit of a pandemic slumber with a new name and menu.

Called the Jervis Joint, the refreshed contemporary pub-style spot is taking up the mantle from predecessors Beside (as in "beside Forage") and before that the Canadiana-themed Timber. The name is a nod to its location at the corner of Robson and Jervis, and the restaurant is under the umbrella of the Listel Hotel, which houses both Jervis Joint and Forage.

Timber was primed to offer its last service on March 22, 2020 when COVID-19 changed its plans and sped up the timeline. Ultimately, Beside got up and running that summer, but wound down operations about a year later.

Jervis Joint offers a bit of a sports bar vibe and an approachable menu of comfort eats, like a smashburger, nachos, and wings, with craft beers. Happy hour is offered from 3 to 6 p.m. and has snack and drink specials. There are also daily specials, like discounted pitchers of their house Pilsner on Thursdays, or a "burger and a beer" deal for $20 on Saturdays.

The just-launched Jervis Joint is open Wednesday through Sunday from 3 p.m. to late. Follow them on Instagram @jervisjoint.
