Kin Kao Song is set to open in November at 317 East Broadway in Vancouver

You won't have to sing for your supper at Kin Kao Song - but your first chance to get a table at the second outpost of the popular Vancouver Thai spot Kin Kao is soon.

The sibling spot to the much-loved Commercial Drive restaurant will open its doors on Nov. 4, offering dinner service with natural wines and cocktails Thursday through Monday from 5 to 10 p.m.

Plans for Kin Kao Song were announced earlier this year when the Kin Kao team took over at 317 East Broadway in Mount Pleasant. The restaurant space was previously occupied by Black Lodge, the Twin Peaks-themed vegetarian and vegan bar/restaurant that closed up shop at the end of February.

But before you rush over and expect all things the same in Mount Pleasant as they are on The Drive, take note things will be different. This summer, Kin Kao Song's Terrence Feng told V.I.A. by email guests can expect a different menu from the original Kin Kao on The Drive "with a big emphasis on approachable but unique-to-Vancouver Thai food."

The wines will hail from B.C. and around the globe; the house wine will be Neon-Eon. Kin Kao Song will also have original cocktails and beers on tap.

The new restaurant has also launched a new standalone Instagram account. You can follow @kinkaosong for more info and updates about the opening.
