Hungry Zus, seen here in August 2023, took over the downtown Vancouver space that used to be Festal Paleo Cafe and the casual Mediterranean restaurant is set to open soon.

Opening day is on the horizon for a new casual spot called Hungry Zus.

The restaurant has been in the process of setting up its location at 433 Granville St for several months. Hungry Zus is replacing the previous occupant, Festal Paleo Cafe, which exited the space at the end of March.

According to job listings for staff, Hungry Zus will be a counter-service operation and a "fast casual Greek cafe serving modern Mediterranean dishes."

Though it appears a website is parked for Hungry Zus, it is not yet active, however, owners have supplied some descriptive information for the restaurant's Google listing:  "Hungry Zus is the best Mediterranean restaurant in the heart of Vancouver. Our passion for authentic Mediterranean cuisine shines through in every dish we serve. At Hungry Zus, we prioritize using the finest ingredients and time-honored recipes to ensure every bite is a memorable one. We're dedicated to providing exceptional service, so you can relax and enjoy your meal in a cozy and inviting setting."

The Google listing also lists a projected opening date of Nov. 8.

Hungry Zus also has an Instagram account set up @hungryzus, though the business has yet to post there.

V.I.A. will provide updates as information becomes available.
