New Chilean fast food restaurant opens in Vancouver's West End

Serving up traditional beef sandwiches, loaded fries, and some boozy Chilean drinks

A new casual spot for traditional Chilean eats has opened up in Vancouver.

Puro Chile has moved into the spot at 1101 Denman in the West End that had previously been home to a Fatburger fast food franchise.

Specializing in what it calls "Chilean fast food," Puro Chile is serving up things like churrascos (a traditional Chilean sandwich made with sliced beef and your choice of topping combos), chorrillanas (fries piled with sliced steak, fried egg, and BBQ sauce), and loaded pork hot dogs.

In addition to the casual bites, Puro Chile has milkshakes and several traditional Chilean drinks made with alcohol, like the Piscola (pisco and Coca-Cola), Borgoña (red wine and strawberries), and Fanshop (beer and Fanta).

Puro Chile launched at the end of March, and is currently able to offer take-out. Delivery is available via third-party apps SkipTheDishes and UberEats.

The location is steps from the beach at English Bay, perfect for folks looking for something new to tuck into while out enjoying the spring sunshine.
