A new restaurant with a menu of authentic Greek food and drink is set to open this spring in Vancouver on Victoria Drive.

It's a new chapter for a talented local Greek chef and a new era for a Victoria Drive address last known as the Weirdo Cafe.

Manos Grammatikogiannis, who has worked in acclaimed Vancouver kitchens like Cioppino's and has served as Executive Chef at popular local Greek ventures Nammos Estiatorio and Loula's Taverna, is venturing out on his own with Mnimes.

Aiming to open towards the end of May, Mnimes (6459 Victoria Dr) is described by a rep for the restaurant as "a place for everyone," suitable for early family dinners, date nights, late-night eats and drinks with friends, and weekend brunch. Mnimes will also offer weekday happy hour specials.

Grammatikogiannis, who is in the role of part owner and Executive Chef at Mnimes, is a Greek native who came to Vancouver in 2016. Currently putting the finishing touches on the opening menu, Chef Grammatikogiannis - who is mostly known as "Chef Manons" - is excited to offer a menu of Greek dishes showcasing meat, seafood, and veggies, with vegan options, and specialty ingredients sourced directly from Greece as well as from B.C. suppliers.

The Mnimes menu will feature "authentic Greek food for sharing with a twist and upscale presentation," according to an email from a restaurant rep.

The 1,900-square-foot restaurant seats 60 indoors. Follow @mnimesrestaurantbar for more info and updates.
