Vancouver is getting a new modern Italian restaurant this month.
Lucia is taking over the space at 3124 Main St, the southern edge of Mount Pleasant.
"Lucia’s menu features a thoughtful collection of Italian-inspired dishes, carefully crafted with local ingredients and international flair," describes the restaurant in a media release.
It's not the group's first foray into the local food scene; they're also behind Commercial Drive's popular Social YVR and Harbour Oyster & Bar.
Lucia's is a new direction, though, "blending the bold, feel-good flavours of Italy with elevated cooking techniques." Leading the team at Lucia is Chef Zachary Steele (Carlino, Dockside).
The menu will include a selection of pizzas, pastas, and antipasti, along with a cocktail menu "that emphasizes creativity and balance."
The new restaurant, which opens officially on June 13, 2025, will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight for lunch and dinner service.
Prior to Lucia, the spot (next to Heritage Hall) was occupied (shortly) by Anthem Sound Lounge, which opened in late 2024. It took over the space from Smitty's Oyster Bar. Prior to that it was Five Point. All three ventures were from local restaurateur Matt Thompson.
