New Swiss restaurant replacing BBQ spot in Vancouver's Gastown

Do you fondue?

Röosh, a Swiss restaurant, is opening soon at 2 Water St in Gastown

Earlier this year, Vancouver said so long to veteran BBQ spot Peckinpah at 2 Water St in Gastown after a 10-year run.

While Peckinpah did ride off to greener pastures (they're relaunching soon, only this time in Squamish), the restaurant space was replaced swiftly with Country Roads BBQ - yes, another BBQ joint.

Country Roads, however, has already said its farewell to the Gastown space, and now another new concept is prepping to launch.

Called Röosh, the new restaurant will specialize in Swiss comfort fare - think "röoschtis" (a pan-fried potato dish) and fondue - but will focus on working with B.C. suppliers for its ingredients and beverage program. Röosh will also offer craft cocktails and B.C. beers and wines.
