Immerse yourself in the flavours of Peru, sip and celebrate the night like the French, or usher in 2024 Japanese style with some of Vancouver's top restaurants for New Year's Eve 2024.

Where will you be when the clock strikes 12 to mark the start of 2024? If the answer is "Out celebrating!" and, more so, if you hope to be celebrating in style at one of Vancouver's top restaurants, you'll want to lock in those reservations ASAP for New Year's Eve, as it's one of the busiest nights of the year.

Vancouver's globally-influenced culinary scene has enjoyed another year in an elevated spotlight, thanks in no small part to the Michelin Guide's second go-round of awarding stars, recommendations, and value-driven "Bib Gourmand" nods to dozens of restaurants. As a preeminent Pacific Rim city, Vancouver's restaurants dazzle with global flavours and cuisines, served up in style.

For New Year's Eve Vancouver restaurants will act as a passport to destinations all over the world, without you having to step foot in YVR. Immerse yourself in the flavours of Peru, sip and celebrate the night like the French, or usher in 2024 Japanese-style.

Sushi Mahana

Just on the other side of the Burrard Inlet in North Vancouver, Ring in the New Year with Traditional Ōmisoka and Oshogatsu feasts at Sushi Mahaha. In Japanese culture, marking the arrival of a New Year with food and ritual is an important way to set the stage for growth and prosperity. Sushi Mahana will honour those traditions with two special dinner offerings.

The New Year’s Eve Ōmisoka Dinner will honour the centuries-long Japanese custom of marking the last day of the year by slurping a bowl of noodles, eaten as the temple bell rings at midnight. Additionally, guests will experience other customs including a transitional o-toso sake drinking.

Sushi Mahana's New Year Oshogatsu dinners are offered in early January. Oshagatsu translates to “the first three days of the new year” and is considered Japan’s most important holiday. The dinners will follow tradition, begin with a welcome o-toso sake drink, and feature carefully curated appetizers. Reservations can be made online.
