Owners of popular Vancouver restaurants to open third location in iconic downtown building (PHOTOS)

One of their restaurants has been featured on the Food Network.

The owners of two popular Vancouver restaurants will open a downtown location in the new year.

Fable Diner and Fable Kitchen are known for their comfort foods including imaginative brunch options, burgers, sandwiches, vegan and vegetarian eats, and much more. The diner was also featured on the Food Network's Drive-Ins and Dives for its mouthwatering roast duck pancakes.

Almost ten years after launching the Fable Kitchen in Kitsilano in May 2012 and five years after launching the Fable Diner in Mount Pleasant’s historic Lee Building, the Fable Family says it will open its new restaurant in the city's landmark Kingston Hotel Building at 755 Richards Street.

Fable Diner & Bar will occupy two and a half floors of the historic Kingston Hotel, which was built in 1910. The new spot is expected to open in early 2022 and will offer brunch, happy hour, dinner and late-night eats for dine-in, take-out and delivery throughout the week.

The restaurant menus will showcase Fable’s signature creative approach to classic diner fare featuring all-day breakfast options, elevated brunch, and a new pizza and wings menu for the bar. In the dining room, guests may enjoy Fable Kitchen's favourite dishes like the duck meatball as well as "nostalgic" desserts, craft cocktails, and over 15 local craft beers on tap.

The new restaurant will offer seating for 278 guests "across a main floor dining room, upstairs bar, and two private dining areas, which include an intimate wine room for 12 and a function space with a bar that can be reserved for private parties of up to 100."

Fable Diner & Bar will also offer additional seating for 80 guests on the restaurant’s upper and lower patios in the warmer months, along with outdoor features like a water fountain and tropical palm trees.

Guests will also be able to enjoy a new evening menu of chicken wings, salads, fries, and an original lineup of pizzas available exclusively at the Richards St. location. Signature 12-inch pies will come in classic varieties like Margarita and Pepperoni in addition to specialty styles like an East Coast-style Donair pizza and a Pleasant Bowl pizza (inspired by Fable’s popular vegan dish of the same name) topped with cauliflower, mushrooms, kale and potato.

To drink, Fable Diner & Bar will serve up a creative variety of spirit-free beverages and boozy libations, including creamy diner-style milkshakes, home-brewed sodas in refreshing flavours (ginger beer, honey peach, strawberry, and mango), evening cocktails, and signature draft beers developed in partnership with local breweries.
