Passionate vegan and B.C.-born star Pamela Anderson is hoping to turn Canada's top official on to going plant-based.

The Honorary Director of the group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) (and published poet) has sent Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a letter to let him know she not only digs his move to invest in Canada's plant-based food economy, but also that she's up for being his "mentor" if he chooses to go vegan.

Anderson has been vocal in recent years about animal rights, environmental concerns, and plant-based eating her home and native land. She has spoken out against the Chilliwack Rodeo, urged Port Moody officials not to build a road through a beloved park, and has made the case for Canada's prisons switching to serve only plant-based foods.

"Sensuality includes being engaged in the world and caring about others’ feelings, and nothing is sexier than compassion," Anderson tells Trudeau.

Anderson's letter goes on to laud Trudeau for the Canadian government's recent $100 million investment into Merit Functional Foods for their new plant in Winnipeg. Merit works with pea and canola to create plant proteins for use in consumer foods.

In her short letter to Trudeau, Anderson links to the COVID-19 pandemic with the production and consumption of animal-based foods: "As COVID-19 has exposed serious health risks associated with factory farms and slaughterhouses, the world needs more sensible leaders like you, who are willing to embrace clean, compassionate, and clever food solutions."

Anderson closes with her offer to give Trudeau some guidance on going vegan: "Were you to drop meat and dairy from your personal diet—which I so hope you will—I would be honored to be your mentor and to suggest some of the tasty, diverse vegan foods proudly produced in Canada."

The following is Pamela Anderson's letter to Justin Trudeau in full:

June 29, 2020

The Right Honorable Justin Trudeau, P.C., M.P.

Prime Minister of Canada

 Dear Prime Minister,

Sensuality includes being engaged in the world and caring about others’ feelings, and nothing is sexier than compassion. Your recent decision to invest another $100 million in our mushrooming plant-based industries fits that description—and that puts Canada on top when it comes to promoting a humane and healthy diet. On behalf of my friends at PETA, thank you for doing that—please keep it up!

Your fiscally responsible move not only creates good jobs for Canadians but also spares countless animals a terrible life and death. As COVID-19 has exposed serious health risks associated with factory farms and slaughterhouses, the world needs more sensible leaders like you, who are willing to embrace clean, compassionate, and clever food solutions.

Were you to drop meat and dairy from your personal diet—which I so hope you will—I would be honored to be your mentor and to suggest some of the tasty, diverse vegan foods proudly produced in Canada.

 Kind regards,

 Pamela Anderson
