A Vancouver gelato shop has a sweet way to spread a little love for Random Acts of Kindness Day today: Free scoops for local health care workers.

Uno Gelato will be performing "Random Acts of Gelato" Wednesday afternoon and evening, and anyone who works in the local health care industry is invited to come in for a free scoop.

If this is you or someone in your household bubble who is willing to share their gelato with you, all you have to do is head to Uno Gelato in Kits (2579 W Broadway) and present your health care ID to receive one free single cup or cone of the shop's house-made artisan gelato or sorbetto until 9 p.m. today.

Random Acts of Kindness Day is observed on Feb. 17, and is the annual tradition of showing kindness to others to bring positivity to people’s lives for the day, week, or - ideally - all the time.

According to the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, evidence shows that there are positive effects of “doing kind acts for others as well receiving or evening witnessing kindness." Kindness can take different forms such as saying something comforting or even a smile as you pass by a neighbour.
