Just Another Coffee Shop has closed down its Vancouver pop-up cafe

The "world's longest-running pop-up coffee shop" is no more.

Just Another Coffee Shop ran for a year at 3040 West Broadway in Kitsilano, in the former Cartems space.

Was it really the "world's longest-running pop-up coffee shop"? Hard to say. Regardless, the year-long run of the temporary Just Another Coffee Shop in Kitsilano came to an end on Sunday, April 24.

Now, operators will set to work turning in the West Broadway location into a more permanent venture.

"As much as we've enjoyed this time, we are so incredibly excited about our plans for this space," the cafe business shared on social media.

With the Coffee Shop shut down, operators will turn the space into its next iteration, with plans to re-open in the summer, marking another quick turnover for the address.

In 2021, Kitsilano lost its outpost of one of Vancouver's leading doughnut destinations, Cartems. The micro-chain shuttered its third location, at 3040 West Broadway, in late February.

Soon after, Just Another Coffee Shop, with its minimalist branding and lighthearted attitude slid into the venue.

The shop also offered a promise: "Something cool coming soon." Now that pledge is renewed, as Just Another Coffee Shop's parting hashtag tells us: #somethingcoolFINALLYcomingsoon. What that is, precisely, remains a mystery for the time being.

Keep your eyes peeled for (just) another announcement about what's going on with the space.
