Passengers using Vancouver International Airport are being advised to check the status of their flights today, following widespread chaos in the U.S. due to a computer outage at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

According to a statement issued by YVR, flights arriving and departing to the U.S. on Wednesday may experience some delays.

The FAA had paused flights to and from, and within, the U.S. earlier due to a computer outage, resulting in thousands of delays and cancellations.

The ground stop has since been lifted and operations are resuming.

While operations are currently normal at YVR, travellers are being warned of potential delays throughout the day for U.S. flights, including connecting flights.

Travellers are advised to check the status of their flights with the airline before arriving at the airport.
