Anti-vaccine protestors descend on downtown Vancouver (PHOTOS & VIDEOS)

The protest is supported by the same group that coordinated the protest outside VGH in 2021

Hundreds of maskless protestors carrying signs bearing anti-vaccine or anti-mask slogans have gathered in downtown Vancouver.

The protestors have mainly swarmed around the Vancouver Art Gallery but could be seen in traffic camera footage marching down Hornby and Robson Steet. The protest is the sixth World Wide Freedom Rally according to material promoting the rally. Scheduled to speak at the rally is Dr. Stephen Malthouse whose comments the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. have deemed "harmful".

Austin Ferguson is also scheduled to make an appearance. Furgeson is the father of a four-year-old boy with leukemia who was staying at a Ronald McDonald House location in Vancouver. Earlier this month a video of Ferguson confronting RMH staff over the non-profit's mandatory vaccine policy made waves online.

One of the sponsoring groups of the rally is the same group that was behind the anti-vaccine protest held outside Vancouver General Hospital in the summer of 2021. Canadian Frontline Nurses has been condemned by the Canadian Frontline Nurses Association which has called the group's rhetoric "dangerous".
