A driver has learnt a serious lesson to always pay attention to the roads after they caused a car accident when they ran a stop sign, which sent their vehicle crashing into the front yard of a North Vancouver home on Tuesday morning.
The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 17 at East 21st Street and St. Georges Avenue.
Sgt. Peter DeVries, North Vancouver RCMP spokesman, said one vehicle was travelling south on St. Georges while the other vehicle was heading eastbound on East 21st when the collision occurred.
He said the driver travelling east failed to see the stop sign and ran through the intersection.
“The car that was travelling southbound struck the vehicle that ran the stop sign and the vehicle that was struck went into a front yard of a property at that location,” DeVries said, adding that the property’s yard was damaged in the process but the car did not hit the house itself.
DeVries said both drivers came out of the crash unharmed and were the only ones involved in the incident.
“Both were examined and released,” he said.
He said one violation ticket was issued for failing to obey a stop sign.
North Vancouver City Fire Department also attended the scene.
