Have you seen a male Ragdoll/Persian cat called Yuki?
Paul Hennessey and his wife say they dropped Yuki off at Dashing Dawgs Boutique in Coal Harbour on August 30 to get his teeth cleaned.
The couple returned about an hour and a half later to find their cat missing and found no sign of him on the store's surveillance tapes.
Hennessey says the staff did not put Yuki in a kennel and supposedly "lost" him. "When we entrust our beloved pets to supposed trained animal professionals, this is the last thing that we would expect to happen."
"We are absolutely devastated this has happened," says Seana Wade of Dashing Dawgs Boutique who says she has been at the store with the owners going through "every nook and cranny to find the cat."
Wade says she set up video footage in the back room to watch and listen for the cat to come back for food and returned the next morning with the owners to take the store apart for the third time.
Staff have put up 100 posters, searched the neighbourhood, talked to concierges and called the police -- "everything to help find the cat."
The year-and-a-half-old cat is microchipped, can be returned to any vet clinic in Vancouver and the owners will be notified. They are offering a "substantial reward" for Yuki's safe return home.
"He's a very special, beautiful, unique and expensive cat. We don't want to think that somebody would steal him. It's just awful," says Hennessey.
