While the Lower Mainland saw some sunny breaks over the week, this weekend Metro Vancouver forecast calls for a mix of strong winds, rain and even some thunderstorms.

Environment Canada warns Metro Vancouverites that a strong cold front will sweep across the south coast this afternoon, accompaned by strong gusty winds of up to 80 km/ hr. However, winds are expected to ease this evening.

The forecast also calls for rain throughout the day and into Sunday, but Sunday's forecast also calls for a risk of thunderstorms. Sunday evening, however,  is expected to be cloudy and dry.

While it doesn't look like the sun will peek out on Monday, the forecast includes a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 17°C on Tuesday. And while Wednesday calls for a 60 percent chance of showers during the day, Thursday and Friday are expected to be sunny and quite warm, with daytime highs  of 19°C and 20°C respectively.
