Stormy weather: Vancouver forecast calls for risk of thunderstorms today

The forecast calls for a risk of thunderstorms all day long and into tomorrow morning. In addition, up to 40 mm of rainfall is expected to fall by tomorrow afternoon.

While B.C. smashed 13 temperature records on Sunday and another six on Monday, the next couple of days are expected to be decidedly stormy in the Lower Mainland. 

Starting on Thursday, Aug. 20, Environment Canada calls for rain ending this morning and then cloudy with showers beginning this afternoon. After that, the forecast calls for a risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon as well as five to 10 mm of rain. Tonight's forecast also includes a risk of thunderstorms, as well as another five to 10 mm of rainfall.

On Friday, the forecast calls for more stormy weather with a risk of a thunderstorms in the morning and early in the afternoon. Rainfall amounts of up to 20 mm are expected during the day. The evening is expected to be cloudy with a 60 per cent chance of showers.

Saturday's forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud, but Sunday is expected to sunny and bright. However, Sunday evening is expected to be cloudy. 

Heading into next week, the forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud Monday through Wednesday and daytime highs of 22°C with overnight lows ranging between 13°C and 14°C.
