Vancouverites share striking photos of the city blanketed by fog

Are we calling it fogtober now? 🌫️

Vancouver skies just can't seem to catch a break this fall.

After far too many days spent blanketed by wildlife smoke and under air quality advisories last month, a thick cloud of fog rolled into the city this week.

While the fog caused similarly limited visibility in some parts of Metro Vancouver, the views weren't necessarily completely impeded this time. Instead, the fog wove its way through the downtown core and around several of Vancouver's landmarks—most notably, the Lions Gate Bridge—creating a strikingly eerie scene, right on time for spooky season! (Or are we calling it fogtober now?)

As with any other notable weather phenomena, if it's not posted to Instagram, did it really happen? Vancouverites took advantage of the thick, hazy mist for a photo op, capturing stunning images of the city in its unique state and posting them to the social media platform.

We've rounded up a few that caught our attention below. As always, we love seeing the photos you capture in and around our favourite city. Make sure to post them with the hashtag #VancouverIsAwesome so we can find them!
