Kinda like a nurse log - Buntzen Lake

I've see this occurrence in the wild, I've seen it on the streets of our city, and I almost always shoot a photo of it when I do. It's a tree growing out of the stump of a previously fallen tree, and I love it.

I've see this occurrence in the wild, I've seen it on the streets of our city, and I almost always shoot a photo of it when I do. It's a tree growing out of the stump of a previously fallen tree, and I love it. It's similar to something called a "nurse log" where the actual log part of the fallen tree provides ecological support to seedlings and from now on I'm going to share photos of both of these things whenever I shoot them. This first one is at Buntzen Lake and the tree is HUGE, growing out of a similarly massive stump...

To give you an idea of how big the stump is, here's some kids climbing on a similar sized one not far away...

Oh, and if anybody knows of an actual term for this "tree growing out of a stump" phenomenon, please let me know.
