Unique B.C. house with built-on observatory for sale for $4.2 M

Stargaze Ranch steers into both parts of its name.

A unique house has hit the real estate market in B.C.'s interior.

Called Stargaze Ranch, it takes its name seriously; the standout feature is an observatory built into the middle of the house. The dome rotates with the stars and a TV in the living room has been wired to the telescope.

Inside the observatory is a 16-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, a serious piece of astronomical observing equipment.

Around the telescope, there's a substantial house as well, with nearly 7,000 square feet of living space, five bedrooms and five bathrooms. As the original owners were very much interested in technology, it's been outfitted with a variety of gadgets, including a commercial-grade water system, automated security gates, and GPS-controlled clocks.

At the same time, there's an octagonal library/office with rolling ladders.

The property steers into both parts of its name, too, with a fenced in area for farm fowl (your turkeys, chickens, etc.), and space for other animals.

There's also a separate building currently used as an office of sorts, with a reception area, conference room, and "laboratory" according to the listing.
