This Vancouver room for rent has curtains instead of walls

Is affordable rent worth one's privacy?

B.C.'s biggest city has numerous tiny, creative rentals, with everything from living rooms to solariums to even closets

Since Vancouver rent costs climb month-over-month, paying under $1,000 for a private room may be considered a great deal. But is that affordable price tag worth one's privacy?

A room listed earlier this week on Facebook Marketplace is going for $750 per month. It's one of six rooms in a three-bedroom, one-bathroom home.

The space comes with in-unit laundry and street parking, but the room itself has curtains for walls and only offers enough space for a single mattress. Only one wall is an actual, solid wall, while the other three are all curtains.

The listing notes that an ideal tenant would stay long-term but shorter stays are also accepted.
