As part of the Dignity Memorial® network, Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Ocean View Funeral Home in Burnaby have access to the largest network of funeral and cemetery providers in North America.

“Every time we learn something in one community,” says Andrew Knapman, Location Manager for Forest Lawn Funeral Home, “we’re able to share what we’ve learned across our network. This gives us the opportunity to offer a wide variety of products and services for people to choose from. And, because we work closely within our network, our customers are able to find assistance and compassion even when they are far from the Lower Mainland.”

Dignity’s National Transferability Program allows customers to transfer pre-arranged funeral plans across Canada or even into the United States. And the Bereavement Travel Program offers assistance under a pre-arranged plan to families needing to travel to a funeral.

“Working with Carlson Wagonlit we provide a phone number that connects families to a travel advisor who only deals in bereavement travel,” says Andrew. “Their aim is to be as helpful as possible and assist people with booking flights, trains, cars, hotel rooms—whatever they need to take care of their travel arrangements.”

An extensive resource library is also available on the funeral homes’ websites. The library contains helpful articles on grief management, religious and cultural funeral customs, funeral etiquette, advance planning and much more.

“Another service we’re able to offer as members of the Dignity Memorial® network is our Compassion Care Line,” Andrew says. “If you pre-arrange your funeral, we’ll give family members a phone number to call that will connect them – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – to clinician with a Master’s degree or Ph.D. and five years of experience in the counseling field. This service is available in just about any language spoken in North America.”

As part of the Dignity Memorial® network, both Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Ocean View Funeral Home offer a 100% Service Guarantee. The Dignity brand is the assurance of quality, value, caring service and customer satisfaction.
