Photos: This oceanfront B.C. accommodation has tent houses that look like they're on stilts

Looking for a secluded escape?

Looking to escape to a secluded oceanfront oasis without catching a flight?

Located on the Sunshine Coast, the Rockwater Secret Cove Resort overlooks the stunning Halfmoon Bay and provides guests with a serene stay in a secret tent house complex.

The charming houses rise several feet off the ground on stilts, making the resort one of the most unique places to stay on the B.C. coast. From this elevated vantage point, guests staying in the Waterview Tenthouse rooms will soak in spellbinding ocean views.

Visitors looking for a truly secluded stay should request the Kitty Hawk Tenthouse, which is located at the end of the resort's boardwalk and features its own private deck that is the "most romantic spot for a candle-lit dinner, morning coffee and breakfast, or afternoon drinks."

The room also includes a king bed, soaker tub, rainfall shower, fireplace, heated floors, a mini fridge, a kettle, a coffee maker, bathrobes and slippers.

Travellers who don't want to stay in the tented accommodations can also stay in modern rooms located in the lodge. Room categories include Oceanview, Deluxe Oceanview, Poolside Rooms, Deluxe Poolside, Deluxe Two Bedroom, Two Bedroom Suites, and the Rockwater Suite.

Since guests who stay in any of these rooms are located in the resort's main building, they are near all of the main amenities like the restaurant, lounge and pool. The oceanview rooms also feature a balcony that gives you a view of the resort’s oceanfront property.

Visitors looking for a more rustic stay can also book one of the historic cabins. Built in the '50s to house both fishermen and hunters, the refurbished lodgings are described as the perfect place for "artists looking for inspiration as they are for people looking to reconnect with Mother Nature."

There is also an Upper Suite available that is ideal for larger groups travelling together. It comes with three rooms, two bathrooms, a dining area, a living room, and a patio looking out towards the ocean.

Guests may enjoy a range of activities near the property, including yoga, hiking, biking, golf, kayaking and more. And, since the remote location promotes peace and relaxation, it's an ideal place to meditate.

Accommodating up to 120 people overnight and weddings of up to 200 guests, the resort is also popular for large events, celebrations and weddings. It also specializes in West Coast cuisine and will provide meals.

The resort also offers a variety of soothing spa treatments to help you rejuvenate and relax.
