Hot deal: You can fly from Vancouver to Seoul for $460

Find out how to save hundreds on the popular route.

Flights from Vancouver to Seoul remain lower than usual thanks to reduced fares from a newcomer carrier.

T'way Air will launch a non-stop service between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Incheon International Airport (ICN) on July 12 and continuing through Oct. 25.

It will operate flights four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The outbound flight departs Incheon International Airport at 9:05 p.m. (KST)  and arrives at Vancouver International Airport at 3:25 p.m. (local time). The return flight leaves Vancouver at 5:25 p.m. and lands in Seoul at 9:35 p.m. (KST) the following day.

Travellers hoping to score the low-cost flights on the popular route can take advantage of coupons for $40 off round-trip tickets until June 30. After that, the airline offers $20 off tickets.

Customers must register with the airline online to download the tickets

On top of this, the airline is also offering a special launch fare until June 30 for travel between July 12 and Oct. 25. The deal for one-way tickets starts for as little as $460.67, including all taxes and fees (see slide two).

Round-trip flights from Vancouver to Seoul, Korea

T'way Air doesn't offer the lowest price for return trips to Korea (if you buy separate one-way tickets, you might get a better deal than what the airline presents for round-trip options).

Instead, a search on Google Flights will offer third-party options selling tickets for up to $100 to $200 less than buying direct from the supplier. For instance, a trip departing Vancouver on Sept. 7 and returning from Seoul on Sept. 18 costs $907 through BudgetAir and $1,153 directly through the airline (see slide three).

This flight is considered "low" for economy or $1,159 cheaper than usual, according to Google Flights.

T'way Air's A330-300 aircraft has 347 seats with 12 flat-bed options in its Business Saver class with adjustable headrests, extra legroom, personal power outlets and individual reading lights.

All passengers on the overseas flight receive complimentary meals: two in Business Saver and one in Economy.

The airline is a South Korean low-cost carrier based in Seoul, meaning it has more restrictive booking guidelines (particularly in the lower fare classes). Travellers should always check the fine print before booking.
