Residents of the Lower Mainland looking for low-cost options across the country can take advantage of a one-day sale with Swoop airlines.
WestJet's discount carrier is offering 60 per cent off base fares on all domestic flights for its weekly Flyday deal.
The deal applies to travel between Jan. 21 and Feb. 28 and must be booked by Friday, Jan. 6 at 8:59 p.m. or until tickets sell out. To take advantage of the offer, enter the promotion code FLYDAY at checkout.
There are great deals available for destinations across Canada, including one-way fares for under $20 out of Abbotsford International Airport (YXX).
For example, a one-way flight from Abbotsford to Edmonton regularly costs as little as $19 for the lowest fare class. With the promotion, however, travellers can take 60 per cent off the base fare. The base fare for the flight is $7.02, which means that $4.21 can be subtracted from the total. The final cost of the ticket works out to $14.79 including all taxes and fees.
Metro Vancouver flights to Ontario and Manitoba
There are several other great deals to take advantage of that are included in the offer. Swoop also flies to Toronto starting at $49 for a one-way ticket, Hamilton starting at $39 for a one-way ticket, and Winnipeg starting at $49 for a one-way ticket.
There is a bus that travels from Metro Vancouver to the YXX airport. A one-way transfer costs about $46.82 and there are several departures throughout the day.
Travellers will be picked up from Vancouver's Pacific Central Station, located at 1150 Station St., and they will ride the bus for just under one-and-a-half hours (depending on traffic) to Abbotsford. They are dropped off outside of the main terminal entrance at YXX in Abbotsford.
