WestJet's budget carrier Swoop is offering deals from YYX airport in Abbotsford to Lester B. Pearson International Airport YYZ in January 2023 at a steal.

Residents of the Lower Mainland looking to fly to Toronto this month can enjoy a significant discount with Swoop right now.

WestJet's budget carrier is offering a whopping 60 per cent off base fares for travel from Abbotsford International Airport (YXX) to Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) between Jan. 16 and Jan. 22, 2023.

The flash sale ends Wednesday (Jan. 4) at 8:59 p.m. or until tickets sell out. To take advantage of the offer, enter the promotion code SWOOPON at checkout.

Right now, for example, the lowest price for a one-way ticket from Abbotsford to Toronto departing on Jan. 18 at 12:25 p.m. costs $48.99 with taxes and fees. The base fare of the flight is $35.59, which means that travellers can subtract 60 per cent of that amount ($21.35) from the cost of the ticket. After subtracting the discount, the new price works out to only $27.64 including all taxes and fees.

Metro Vancouver flights to Toronto

While travellers can't fly directly from Toronto to Vancouver with the Swoop offer, they don't need to drive to Abbotsford to take advantage of the offer.

There is a bus that travels from Metro Vancouver to the YXX airport. A one-way transfer costs about $46.82 and there are several departures throughout the day.

Travellers will be picked up from Vancouver's Pacific Central Station, located at 1150 Station St., and they will ride the bus for just under one-and-a-half hours (depending on traffic) to Abbotsford. They are dropped off outside of the main terminal entrance at YXX in Abbotsford.
