Goodbye, Sun: Vancouver forecast calling for a rainy week ahead

The Vancouver weather forecast calls for a dreary week ahead after the Lower Mainland saw sunshine through the weekend. 

Starting on Monday, Feb. 10, however, the forecast is calling for a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 6°C. The evening is expected to be partly cloudy with temperatures dipping down to a chilly 1°C. Following this, Tuesday's forecast calls for a 40 per cent chance of showers during the day, with cloudy skies overnight. 

Wednesday's forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud during the day followed by periods of rain in the evening. After that, Thursday is expected to see rain during the day with a 60 per cent chance of showers at night. Friday's forecast calls for a 60 per cent chance of rain throughout the day, while Saturday is expected to see periods of rain during the day. 

Sunday's forecast calls for a 60 per cent chance of showers during the day.

On Feb. 6, Vancouver saw its 28th consecutive day with precipitation, which made it the longest run of wet weather in over 50 years.

While Vancouver has seen some brief moments of sunshine, there has been at least a trace amount of precipitation each day over the last 28 days. At other times, the city has seen a staggering amount of rainfall or snowfall accummulate in a matter of hours or days. For instance, Vancouver received a whopping 34 cm of snowfall in five days earlier this month.
