Long weekend weather: Vancouver forecast calling for a chance of rainfall

While the Metro Vancouver weather forecast calls for clear skies and toasty temperatures today, things are looking a little cooler and wetter for the long weekend.

While the Metro Vancouver weather forecast calls for clear skies and toasty temperatures today, things are looking a little cooler and wetter for the long weekend.

Environment Canada calls for sunshine on Thursday, Aug.29 with a high of 24°C and a high of 28°C inland. However, temperatures will feel more like 29°C and 32°C respectively with humidity. Following this, Friday's forecast calls for mainly cloudy skies as well as a 30 precent chance of rainfall with a high of 22°C and 25°C; temperatures are expected to feel more like 27°C and 29°C with humidity, though.

Saturday is expected to see a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 percent chance of showers during the day and a 60 percent chance of showers overnight. What's more, Sunday's forecast calls for a 60 percent chance of showers throughout the day.

Monday is expected to clear and see a mix of sun and cloud, with a high of 22°C. Tuesday's forecast calls for bright sunshine and a high of 24°C.

Back in April, Environment Canada told Vancouver Is Awesome that the Lower Mainland would likely see above average temperatures in late spring and into summer. Further, it noted that the summer season would likely be warmer overall. These above-average temperatures are expected to continue into the autumn season.
