Two weeks ago in this space, I wrote a column about women in the news locally, nationally and abroad and the importance of their voices being heard. This week, my attention can’t help but turn to a certain man… Toronto mayor Rob Ford.

There’s something about the way French women dress that is so inspirational. They always look like they dress for a purpose, look like a million dollars and somehow throw together a sense of effortless elegance on any given day.

Costco — that bastion of case lot bargains and ill-fitting Kirkland stonewash denim dad jeans — has once again proven to be on the stingy side when it comes to allowing the sale of Remembrance Day poppies on its premises.
