Now in its 25th silver anniversary year, the HAVAN (formerly Greater Vancouver Home Builder’s Association) Homebuyer Forum 2019 will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Burrard Street in Vancouver, Wednesday evening, March 6.

The event opens at 4 pm with the chance to look around the exhibitors’ stands and speak to industry professionals in the Marketplace. There will then be three seminars, starting at 5pm.

5-5:45 pm: Know Your Local Market: Market analysis with CMHC; new condo buying tips and lock-off suites; affordable neighbourhoods

6-6:45 pm: Financial Strategies: Alternative ways to get into the market; reverse mortgages; Bank of Mom and Dad; legal implications when looking at buying solutions

7-7:45 pm: Smart Shopping: Navigating the world of strata (bylaws, empty home tax and more); working with a Realtor; benefits of buying new – the New Home Warranty

Although the event is free to attend, spots fill up quickly and you must register in advance. If you’re unable to attend in person, you can also register to see the free live-streaming of the event.
