So goes another Jazz Fest concluding with a warmly pleasant but not scorching July weekend in the gorgeous David Lam park. We caught Vancouver's own latin jazz/salsa band RUMBA CALZADA who was just rad on Sunday. On Thursday, I took my dad to see the lone surviving sessional player from Miles Davis' huge Kind of Blue, JIMMY COB's SO WHAT BAND at the Centre. The Centre, being a pretty recently built venue is def dope for sound (as I was there for Maxwell the week before as well). Big props to COASTAL JAZZ for putting on another huge and hugely valuable festival to the city.
Now hopefully, David Lam park can be utilized more often than just for the Jazz Fest.
