These movies were set in Seattle but actually filmed in Vancouver

Vancouver and Seattle go way back.
These movies were set in Seattle, Washington but filmed in Vancouver, Canada, including 50/50, Fifty Shades of Grey, and iZombie.

Vancouver often sets the scene for other cities, whether it's the fictional town named Smallville or Vancouver's American twin, Seattle.

In fact, the city is so often portrayed as Seattle, along with other cities, that one TV show decided to set their story in Vancouver itself, and cast Vancouver actors.

Vancouver and Seattle go way back in the sports world too.

Vancouver hockey fans recently shared their disappointment at the Seattle Kraken's (the city's hockey team) new mascot. This was after the city sent their football team north to tour Vancouver, too.

Of the many film sets seen in this city, these are the many movies set in Seattle that were actually filmed in Vancouver:

  • The 4400
  • 50/50
  • Chronicle
  • Dark Angel
  • Dead Like Me
  • Death Note
  • Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
  • Fifty Shades of Grey
  • Fifty Shades Darker
  • Fifty Shades Freed
  • The InBetween
  • iZombie
  • John Doe
  • The Confirmation
  • The Killing
  • Kyle XY
  • Millennium
  • Reaper
  • Replicant

  • Where'd you go Bernadette?
