We hate to burst your bubble, but travelling to the North Pole this Christmas just isn't a good idea, what with COVID-19 restrictions and all.
Thankfully, one Vancouver attraction is allowing families to get in the holiday spirit and soar North alongside Santa and his sleigh, without having to leave Vancouver Coastal Health's regional boundaries.
FlyOver Canada's "Fly Like Santa" Christmas experience returns next Thursday, Nov. 19, and is set to bring holiday magic to the Lower Mainland until Jan. 3.
Guests can head to Canada Place to fly like Santa from the east to west coasts, before beginning an exhilarating trip to the North Pole. After returning to solid ground, guests can stop by the Flying Whale Waterfront Cafe for Christmas festivities, including seasonal snacks, musical performances and even a visit from Santa himself!
What, exactly, do seasonal snacks entail? Think dipped marshmallows, Christmas loaf and gingerbread, as well as peppermint hot chocolate, hazelnut hot chocolate, eggnog lattes, and for the adults, Baileys hot chocolate, Christmas punch, spiced apple cider and mulled wine.
FlyOver Canada guests will also be able to write letters to Santa, in the coming weeks.
From Monday to Friday, children receive free admission with the purchase of any adult ticket The offer applies to one child, age 12 or under and at least 102 centimetres tall, per each regular-priced adult, senior, or student. Admission for any additional children will be charged at regular child rates.) This offer also includes a festive treat for kids and 50 per cent off souvenir family photos.
Flyers can also visit before 2 p.m. from Friday to Sunday for a family adventure that also includes free admission for kids with the purchase of an adult ticket.
Masks are mandatory at FlyOver Canada.
If you're not quite ready to get in the Christmas spirit, but still interested in doing some soaring, there's one week left to experience Iceland from Vancouver. Visitors will take in sweeping glaciers and stunning fjords during FlyOver Canada's all-new flight ride, running until Nov. 18.
