To gear you up for it, in the coming days leading up to the show we're bringing you a virtual two four of artists who have work in The Cheaper Show #9.

Artist 1 is Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun.

The Cheaper Show #9 happens June 26th! In case you're unfamiliar, here's the deal:

Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun, graduated from the Emily Carr School of Art and Design in 1983 with an honours degree in painting. His interdisciplinary career has lead him to becoming a stakeholder in the Canadian contemporary art scene as well as a pillar in the Aboriginal art community.

Noted for having “created some of the most memorable painted images in the last quarter-century of Canadian artmaking”, Yuxwelputan is currently exhibiting works from the last 3 decades of his practice titled, Neo-Native Drawings and Other Works at the Contemporary Art Gallery (CAG) in Vancouver. His work has been collected by the Vancouver Art Gallery, has appeared and contributed to numerous publications and exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions nationally and internationally at museums and galleries in Taiwan, United States, France, Pain, England and Switzerland.
